I danced around the tic tocs of my mind
missing all the goodbyes
till all I could do is stay behind
watching the ghosts of everyday things
fade into memory
a shared smile, an unexpected laugh
the glimmer of a pitcher, a roll of a dice
all slip into loneliness, helpless, right out of reach
of times gone bye ... like lies
