In the City bubbles

The heavy hanging overcast sky
Suffocates me with stillness.
As the planes fly by
The chilling dampness bounds me here to watch,
Under the bridge of now and then,
All my dreams leave me behind.

Waiting for a moment to begin
I thought I would cry but
The rain never came.

Sometimes, the slight breeze
Carries echoes of laughter and stories
To tease; my dreams just out of reach
Fading like the nearby lamppost
From my memories.

Waiting for a moment to begin
I thought I would cry but
The rain never came.
